The Robin Foundation arose out of the love and compassion of a young girl diagnosed with a rare and deadly cancer. As she underwent painful therapy, she developed an overwhelming compassion for the younger children undergoing the same treatments. In December of 1990, she used $400 of her secretly saved money to provide Christmas gifts and toys for the children in the hospital in the hopes of giving them a day of happiness and helping them forget their pain for a while. In 1994, the amount she had managed to stow away grew to $900. She included hand-made Easter baskets in March to be distributed, though in pain and bed-bound. Robin passed away three days after that Easter on April 5th, 1994. The last promise she asked of her mother (Dee) was to continue the giving. |

In 1995, The Robin Foundation was established by her mother, who works tirelessly to keep Robin's dream alive and added Make A Difference Day and Halloween to the list of holidays. Dee believes this mission is the reason her cancer, diagnosed in 1989, remains dormant. In 2007, The Robin Foundation relocated to BatonRouge/New Orleans, LA area.
